Special Interest

Dr Rahul Bharadwaj has special interest and expertise in Youth Mental Health, especially the early identification and treatment of mental illnesses in young people (psychosis, mood disorders, severe anxiety disorders and other non-psychotic disorders) and working collaboratively with families and carers to facilitate functioning and recovery.

He uses a combination of biological treatments (medications) and psychological interventions.

    Qualifications

    Dr Rahul Bharadwaj completed his psychiatric training at the prestigious Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research. He trained in psychiatry across a variety of organisations and completed psychiatry specialist training through the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) in 2014.

    Work Experience

    Dr. Rahul Bharadwaj has over twenty years of experience working in psychiatry. Prior to Orudra Mindspace, he worked in various roles within Southwestern Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) including as a Consultant Psychiatrist and as Director of Medical Services for SWSLHD’s mental health service. Dr. Bharadwaj has special interest and expertise in Youth Mental Health and worked for several years with the Macarthur Youth Team (Macarthur Mental Health Service) and the Early Psychosis Intervention Program (EPIP), Liverpool Hospital. He also served as the Medical Director for Ramsay Clinic Macarthur’s Youth Unit in 2023.

    He is currently a Consultant Psychiatrist at Ramsay Clinic Macarthur and Orudra Mindspace
